What would this tell you, not accepting gifts..... Ladies?
I have been in a long distance relationship. we are both adults 43 & 44 , both divorced, etc.....I flew into town for my Girlfriends birthday. She has been wearing my ring we are both not sure about getting married again as we are both divorced for the past couple years. However, for the past two months was not wearing it as she informed me one of the stones was loose. At any rate, the birthday gift I gave her was a ruby bracelet that my Mom was owned and had given to me.Before giving this to her, I spoke with my mother about it and she told me she wanted to make sure i would be with this person, while she would prefer we married, she understood my position on marriage and as long as I loved my GF and was planning on being with her, she would love for GF to wear the bracelet. My GF told me she could not wear it as it was a family heirloom and she did not want to offend my Mom if it was seen on her later, explaining it's a Mom thing.Additionally, before I left she put the ring in my shaving kit and told me she put it there so I could have it repaired. When I brought the ring to the jeweler, after looking quite a while, he could find a stone that was kind of loose.I hate to say it but it sounds she is creating distance and just doing so in a cowardly way.We did not have a great visit, I felt like an intruder into her world, this is teh first time this has happened since we've been together. Are these polite signs she wants to be done?As an fyi, she did ask about getting the ring back. I explained I would bring it with me on my next visit.
Should I stop accepting gifts from my parents?
My parents carry a lot of debt and my Mom is always shopping. Everytime I see her at least 1x week she has a gift for me, my son, or my husband. I know she is just digging herself deeper in debt. I have tried suggesting politely that gifts are really not necessary, that we do not have the space in our condo for all these items, and finally to express concern that I want them to be financially stable.Once I told her I would not accept any more gifts at all. She started to cry and then told me she would hit me if I did not take the bag of clothes and xmas ornaments she was trying to give me. I just don't know what to do.
HELP. GUYS do you buy gifts without being asked...?
my bf and i have been together over a year..... valentines day is coming up and i saw a really cute valentine bear in the store, not expensive at all, but i thought should i hint to my boyfriend that i want it, cause honestly my boyfriend isnt the type to w illy n illy buy me a present for an occasion. and i really dont know whether that's a personality thing, an age thing he's 18, i'm 19 or a plain n simple guy thing..... but is it bad that i have to HINT to him gifts that i want??.... like this heart shaped locket he got me, he didnt jus see it in the store and go 'i'm gonna buy this for her', i ASKED him if he'd get it for me for a special occasion. so he got for me on my birthday, but i reminded him plenty of times and went with him to get it....i've gotten him plenty of things on my own with no coaxing, and other things i've gotten from him have actually been from him and family ie christmas gifts and birthday, so they dont feel as special as they would if they came from JUST him......but is the whole hinting thing bad?? cause it kinda just feels like he's not as giving and considerate as i am OR is that the case with most guys, you gotta spell out things? HELP please.......and GUYS, if gift giving isnt YOUR way of showing affection and that you care, honestly what are others way you show it???
What would a girl think if she recieved this as a Valentine's Day gift?
Girls I'm thinking of what to get the girl I like for Valentine's day. She seems pessimistic about it all and she thinks its gonna be another lonely Valentine's day already. This makes me upset because I've been trying to show her I'm the perfect guy for her. So I was thinking of doing something special for her for Valentine's day to show her Mr. Perfect has always been right in front of her. I was gonna write her a song and get my band to record it for her. Is this a good idea or do girls only care about materiel gifts?
